The Porter / Restaurant Maintenance Technician role at Culver's is integral to the smooth operation of the restaurant. This position is responsible for ensuring the restaurant and its equipment are well-maintained and ready for daily operations. The porter’s duties include opening the doors each morning to prepare the restaurant environment, performing scheduled maintenance on all equipment according to a set calendar, and maintaining both the interior and exterior of the restaurant. This includes tasks such as landscaping, snow removal, and keeping the facility clean and orderly. Porters also manage food stock by putting away orders, rotating stock in coolers and freezers, and monitoring shelf life and code dates to ensure food safety and quality. They play a critical role in inventory control and in maintaining the restaurant’s equipment knowledge.
This position requires a motivated individual with a strong work ethic who enjoys routine tasks but is also capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role, as is the ability to frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Job Duties
- Coordinate job duties around other opening team members to ensure efficient preparation for opening
- complete scheduled maintenance on all restaurant equipment safely and correctly according to the maintenance calendar
- provide superior maintenance to the interior and exterior of the restaurant
- maintain building and grounds appearance, including landscaping and snow removal
- put food order away and rotate stock in cooler, freezer, and dry storage
- monitor shelf life and code dates
- maintain working knowledge of restaurant equipment operation
- complete scheduled equipment maintenance
