Job Description

The Marshes of Skidaway Island is currently seeking a full-time Porter/Janitor who will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the community. This position is essential in ensuring that the environment remains safe, clean, and visually appealing for residents and guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for major floor care projects, trash disposal, and the maintenance of all janitorial equipment and supplies. This role requires someone who is attentive to detail, capable of performing physically demanding tasks, and committed to delivering extraordinary service. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical effort 95 percent of the work day
  • Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to stoop and work from kneeling position
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching and stretching
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs independently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous floor maintenance experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long durations
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs independently

Job Duties

  • Perform major floor care projects including sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors
  • Dispose of trash in designated areas maintaining cleanliness
  • Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies ensuring proper working condition
  • Respond promptly to cleaning requests and assigned work duties
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe environment
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold community cleanliness standards
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of community events when needed
