The company prides itself on fostering a work environment that values integrity, teamwork, and diversity. With a national presence, Gerber Collision & Glass provides extensive opportunities for career advancement, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and a focus on employee development. The organization is committed to equal employment opportunities and actively encourages applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities and Protected Veterans, showcasing their commitment to inclusivity and fairness in the workplace.

The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is an essential part of the team that supports the overall customer experience and the seamless operation of the repair process. This position focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of customer vehicles as well as the upkeep of the shop and office environment. The Porter is tasked with ensuring that vehicles are pre-washed before repairs begin and cleaned thoroughly once repairs are completed, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and supporting the high standards of the company. Additionally, the role involves the maintenance of common areas, such as parking lots, sidewalks, and grounds, ensuring a neat and safe environment for both employees and customers. Responsibilities include routine housekeeping tasks like emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, dusting work areas, and organizing tools and equipment in the production area.

This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can multitask effectively and demonstrate a positive, trustworthy, and reliable attitude. While automotive experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, and a strong willingness to learn is highly valued. The Porter must have good vision, be at least 18 years old, and hold a valid driver’s license for vehicle transportation duties. This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing for extended periods, and occasional stooping or kneeling. The Porter will contribute significantly to the operational flow at Gerber Collision & Glass by ensuring each vehicle and workspace reflects the company's commitment to excellence.

Gerber Collision & Glass offers compensation ranging from $12 to $17 per hour, commensurate with the candidate’s skills, education, and experience. This full-time position also includes potential bonus opportunities based on individual or business performance. Gerber is renowned for offering comprehensive benefits that support the overall well-being and success of their employees, including medical, dental, vision insurance from day one, retirement plans with company match, paid time off, paid parental leave, and several other valuable perks. This role is ideal for someone looking to begin or grow their career in the automotive industry with the backing of a supportive and well-established company.
