The role of a Porter at RWB Thrift is vital to the smooth operation of the backroom and production support staff. This hourly position, with a pay range from 15 to 17 USD, is responsible for maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the production floor and related areas. The Porter functions as the air-traffic controller for the backroom, anticipating the needs of the team by ensuring that supplies such as hangers, sensors, racks, carts, and bins are always available and properly located. This allows the production staff to work efficiently without interruptions or shortages. The Porter not only helps with the logistics of moving items between departments but also plays a key role in managing waste by operating the trash compactor and ensuring a tidy workplace.

Responsibilities in this role include loading and unloading delivery trailers, sorting and organizing donated merchandise, and recording item arrivals. The Porter must communicate effectively with other team members and strictly follow safety protocols to prevent hazards on the production floor. The job demands focus on detail and the ability to work quickly under pressure, ensuring that the backroom operations flow smoothly to support overall store productivity. A fundamental understanding of English may be necessary for communication with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
