The ABQ Uptown is a premier shopping center that serves as a vibrant hub for retail, dining, and entertainment in Albuquerque. We are seeking a dedicated Trash Removal Operator to join our facilities team. This role is essential in ensuring that the shopping center remains clean and organized by managing the daily removal and disposal of tenant trash. The Trash Removal Operator will be responsible for collecting trash from the service corridors behind each tenant space and ensuring that all waste is properly compacted and disposed of. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the cleanliness of the truck tunnel and tenant dumpsters, as well as operating a trash compactor and pressure washer. This position requires a proactive and self-motivated individual who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with other departments such as Marketing during special events.
In this role, safety and compliance with relevant regulations, including OSHA standards, are paramount. The Trash Removal Operator is expected to follow established procedures and maintain inventory records for cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools. Attention to detail is crucial, as the operator will monitor and report any damaged or missing property, trash containers, or other maintenance issues to the supervisor. Flexibility is also important, as the position may require working during various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The ability to lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds and to operate equipment such as compactors and pressure washers safely and efficiently is essential.

Job Duties
- Daily removal of tenant trash located in service corridors behind tenant spaces
- Operate compactors for trash disposal
- Operate pressure washer to maintain tunnel cleanliness
- Removal and compaction of all compactor areas that may require additional clean up
- Assist other departments including marketing to clean and patrol during events
- Establish procedures to insure completion of scheduled cleaning of different areas of the facility
- Maintain a professional cooperative working relationship with management and all co-workers
