The Porter position at Redwood Communities plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and visual appeal of the property’s grounds and common areas. This full-time, Monday through Friday role from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. typically pays between $17 and $18 per hour and directly supports the property maintenance team. Responsibilities include routine landscaping tasks like mowing, trimming, watering, and maintaining flower beds, as well as general upkeep such as cleaning walkways, parking lots, and other exterior areas. The Porter also assists with snow removal when necessary and is responsible for the care and maintenance of landscaping tools and equipment. In addition to outdoor tasks, the role includes janitorial duties in common areas such as sweeping, trash removal, and minor property repairs.

Candidates in this role must be organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills and a high degree of professionalism, ethics, and integrity are essential to ensuring Redwood Communities delivers a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. Previous experience with groundskeeping or general maintenance is preferred, along with a basic understanding of common repair tasks in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
