The role of Porter at The District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a full-time position designed to ensure the upkeep and physical maintenance of the community grounds, amenities, and overall curb appeal. The Porter supports the service team in maintaining the high standards that Greystar is known for, ensuring that all common areas remain clean, safe, and inviting for residents and guests. Responsibilities include routine inspection and removal of litter, debris, and pet waste throughout the day to maintain the aesthetic and cleanliness of the property. The role also involves managing trash removal from vacant apartments before the make-ready process starts and assisting in the transfer and cleaning of storage areas. The Porter helps with minor and routine service requests under the guidance of supervisors and assists the make-ready specialist with apartment turnovers.

Key tasks include changing locks according to policy standards to maintain security, ensuring pool gates comply with safety codes, and distributing communications to residents. Safety vigilance is essential, as the Porter must report any hazards promptly to supervisors. Demonstrating excellent customer service skills by treating residents with respect and responding politely to service complaints enhances community satisfaction. The role requires adherence to strict safety protocols including OSHA compliance, regular participation in safety meetings, and prompt reporting of incidents.

This role demands physical fitness, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, carry weights up to 25 pounds independently, and 50 pounds with assistance. The Porter must be able to work under various weather conditions and maintain flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver’s license is required to operate a golf cart on the property safely.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage range of $20.00 to $22.00, with potential bonuses based on individual and company performance for both corporate and onsite positions. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license to operate golf cart

Job Qualifications
