The company emphasizes a supportive work environment and aims to provide its employees with the resources and infrastructure necessary to excel in their careers. Known for its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Gerber Collision & Glass continuously invests in training and technology to ensure it remains at the forefront of the collision repair industry.
This particular role is for a Porter, a temporary position estimated to last from June 30, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Although this role is temporary and not eligible for overtime, benefits, or paid time off (PTO), it offers an hourly wage ranging from $18 to $22+ depending on experience. The Porter plays a crucial role in complementing quality automotive repairs by preparing and cleaning customer vehicles before delivery as well as maintaining a clean and organized shop and office environment. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and reliability. Working at Gerber Collision & Glass means joining a team that upholds the WOW Operating Way, a plan designed to ensure outstanding service and performance at every customer touchpoint.
The Porter’s duties include maintaining daily housekeeping in the office, production areas, and parking lots, ensuring that workspaces are clean, organized, and safe. The role also involves pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs begin and cleaning them inside and out once repairs are complete, enhancing the overall customer experience. Additionally, the Porter is responsible for transporting vehicles to sublet locations for further repairs when necessary. This hands-on position requires the ability to multitask and work efficiently under supervision, all while displaying a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Candidates applying for the Porter role should have at least a high school diploma or GED and preferably some automotive experience. Essential skills include clear close vision, a valid driver’s license, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing for extended periods, and working near moving mechanical parts. The company values customer service abilities, trustworthiness, reliability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Gerber Collision & Glass embraces diversity and inclusivity by encouraging applicants from all backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities and Protected Veterans.
