Job Description

The Porter Route Leader position is a crucial role within a company dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of retail shopping centers. This company operates within the facilities maintenance sector, specializing in outdoor and indoor maintenance services for commercial clients, focusing on high-traffic retail environments. Their commitment to providing superior cleaning and maintenance ensures their retail partner centers present a welcoming, safe, and visually appealing environment for shoppers and tenants alike.

The Porter Route Leader leads a two-person crew responsible for executing daily cleaning and maintenance tasks across a specified route of 8 to 10 retail shopping centers. Utilizing a company vehicle equipped with GPS-enabled tablets, the leader coordinates and performs comprehensive cleaning duties, ensuring each location meets or exceeds company standards. This role demands a high level of responsibility, as the leader must manage time effectively, communicate clearly, and maintain meticulous attention to detail while working independently and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment such as backpack blowers to remove litter and debris, replacing trash can liners, maintaining dumpster enclosures, and conducting thorough visual inspections of each site for cleanliness and safety hazards. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, emphasizing the importance of safety consciousness and adherence to company protocols.

The Porter Route Leader serves not only as a cleaner but also as a representative of the company at client sites. They must uphold professional conduct, display reliability by starting promptly at 6:00 AM, and lead by example, including assisting in the training of new team members. This role requires a valid driver’s license with a clean record and comfort with technology for route navigation and reporting purposes.

For candidates passionate about outdoor work, keen on maintaining high standards in retail environments, and eager to take on a leadership position within a dependable facilities maintenance company, this role offers stability and a chance to make a tangible impact on the community's shopping experience. The position is typically full-time, starting early in the morning, and may require flexibility with occasional weekend or adjusted schedules based on client needs. While no specific salary information is provided, the role’s responsibilities and required skills indicate a competitive wage structure aligned with industry standards. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to grow within the maintenance sector and who value teamwork, efficiency, and quality.
