This job opportunity is for a full-time custodial position at the Reaching New Heights Residence, a 200-bed shelter located at BRC's new Landing Road facility in the Bronx. The shelter caters mainly to homeless men who are in need of job training and employment. Opened in January 2018, this residence provides temporary housing for six to nine months alongside a comprehensive program designed to address substance abuse and health challenges. Residents receive structured treatment and training to build essential skills for securing and maintaining permanent employment and housing. Funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services, the shelter is a critical component of BRC's continuum of care for individuals experiencing homelessness.

As a Custodian at the Reaching New Heights Residence, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, which directly contributes to the health, safety, and comfort of the residents and staff. The position includes duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and windows, emptying garbage, and receiving deliveries. Additionally, the role requires maintaining inventory, performing light repairs as needed, and occasionally filling in at the front desk. This is a full-time position, with hours scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The compensation for this role is $18.59 per hour.
