The Porter role at Bean Automotive Group is a pivotal position within the service department. This employment opportunity plays an essential part in the seamless operation of the dealership’s service area. The Porter acts as the liaison between customers and technicians by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the dealership premises. Key duties include receiving customer vehicles, transporting them to the service bays for repairs by expert technicians, and returning the vehicles promptly and in excellent condition to the customers. Beyond vehicle handling, the Porter maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the service drive and parking areas, ensuring a welcoming environment for all clients. The position requires vigilance, especially during severe weather conditions such as hurricanes, to secure vehicles appropriately. In addition to driving skills, the role demands responsible handling of keys and proper parking protocols. Comprehensive training, including manufacturer hands-on and web-based programs, supports Porters in delivering high standards of service and advancing their careers. Job Requirements
- Must have a valid and unrestricted driver’s license with no Type A violations in the last three years based on violation date
- A maximum of two Type B violations in the last two years based on violation date
- Must be able to drive vehicles with a manual transmission
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, communicate and comprehend simple instructions effectively
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a thorough drug and background screening to include MVR

Job Duties
- Move vehicles from the service drive to the shop or service parking lot
- Move vehicles to the service drive for customer delivery
- Wash vehicles
- Maintain the service drive and parking lot clean
- Ensure that vehicles are safely secured in the event of an impending hurricane or other severe weather condition that could adversely affect the dealership's vehicle inventory
- Ensure that vehicles are parked in assigned areas
- Make sure that all vehicles are locked and all keys are marked and put away correctly
