This role is essential in ensuring smooth and efficient traffic flow within our service facility, significantly enhancing the customer experience by managing vehicle movement and maintaining an orderly parking area. The position offers an hourly wage between $20 and $23, reflecting the importance of the role in delivering outstanding service.
The Service Greeter/Porter acts as the first point of contact for customers entering the service area, greeting them warmly and providing professional assistance. The role requires attention to detail in recording vehicle information such as VIN, mileage, and existing vehicle damage, ensuring accurate documentation and a seamless service process. Controlling service traffic and assisting with loaner vehicles means this position plays a critical part in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Safety and professionalism are paramount in this position. The ability to drive vehicles safely around the lot, maintain cleanliness of the service drive area, and use proper protective measures such as disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, and floor mats all contribute to a premium service environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in customer service or automotive industry preferred
- Valid driver license with clean driving record
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat professional attitude, answer their questions, and direct them to the appropriate person or location
- Determine if customers coming into service have an appointment
- Record customer's name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk around)
- Control service traffic flow, parking and assist with loaner vehicles as needed
- Park vehicles after they have been written up
- Drive safely and report any lot damage immediately
- Retrieve customer vehicles at cashier for pick-up
- wait at vehicle for customer, thank customers for their business
- Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats and I.D. tags in all vehicles taken in for service
- Deliver keys and repair order hard copies to the appropriate Service Advisor immediately after parking a vehicle
- Maintain a clean and safe service drive area, free of trash, water, leaves and dirt
- Drive vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed
- Make key tags for vehicles
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, report all accidents immediately to management or supervisor
