The company's commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and employee well-being fosters a positive and supportive workplace culture, making it a sought-after employer in the property management landscape.

The role of a Porter/Janitor at FirstService Residential is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the properties under management. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of janitorial duties to ensure buildings, facilities, and restrooms are kept in pristine condition. The primary aim is to create a clean, welcoming environment for residents and visitors, adhering to scheduled cleaning routines and standards. This includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors, attending to furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces, as well as managing waste removal and ensuring restrooms are fully serviced and stocked. Beyond routine cleaning, the job requires attention to detail in tasks like graffiti removal, power-washing playground equipment, and maintaining outdoor areas such as HOA parks through debris removal and blowing.

A successful candidate will be vigilant in reporting maintenance needs and repair requirements to management, facilitating timely interventions to uphold property standards. There is also a community-oriented aspect to the role, assisting in event preparation by setting up and removing furniture and decorations as needed. Safety is paramount; the position demands strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of cleaning solutions and equipment. The compensation for this role ranges from $17 to $18 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, certifications, and job responsibilities, with particular consideration given to client directives. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor conditions, requiring physical stamina and the ability to work under varying weather and noise conditions. The role requires flexibility with hours, including possible overtime, weekends, and holidays based on business needs, emphasizing the importance of consistent and regular attendance.

Overall, this role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the quality and maintenance of residential environments managed by FirstService Residential, supported by a reputable employer that values employee growth and well-being, providing comprehensive benefits and a professional working environment.
