The Maintenance Tech role is a critical position within the facilities maintenance team. As a key contributor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of various property elements, including appliances, carpets, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC components. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a competitive wage range between $23 to $25 per hour. The role demands someone who can independently perform general maintenance duties and also thrive in a team-oriented environment. Alongside hands-on maintenance tasks, the incumbent will rigorously adhere to OSHA safety policies and company standards to ensure a safe workplace for both staff and residents.

The Maintenance Tech will engage in ongoing property improvement plans and preventative maintenance programs to help maintain property aesthetics and functionality. This position requires a commitment to superior customer service and professional conduct, necessitating timely responses to service requests and consistent communication with supervisors regarding material needs or equipment issues. The company utilizes an Automated Employment Decision Tool (AEDT) to support objective candidate evaluations, which reflects its commitment to fairness and inclusivity in hiring.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • two to three years of relevant industry experience preferred
  • knowledge of general maintenance, make ready procedures, pool maintenance, and general ground care
  • basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • ability to work independently and exercise discretion
  • compliance with OSHA and safety regulations
  • ability to wear personal protective equipment when required
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • reasonable and predictable attendance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • college level course in business or hospitality preferred
  • two to three years of industry experience preferred with knowledge of general maintenance, make ready procedures, pool maintenance, and general ground care
  • basic command of Microsoft Office, information system hardware/software preferred
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality
  • strong work ethic and team player
  • intermediate to high level plumbing skills highly desired

Job Duties

  • Performs or assists with general appliance repairs, carpet repairs, and minor A/C and electrical repairs
  • perform or assist with carpentry work, painting, and plumbing duties as required
  • participates in an ongoing property improvement plan and preventative maintenance program
  • perform or assist in all building repairs such as installing appliances, electrical fixtures, re-key deadbolts
  • adheres to and complies with OSHA and company safety policies, rules, and wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary
  • practice and adhere to company global service standards and respond to all calls by the end of the next business day
  • conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct
  • demonstrate reasonable and predictable attendance
  • perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedule
  • notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies
  • may participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines
