The Porter position at Legends Global plays a critical and multifaceted role in maintaining the seamless operations of event venues and service areas. This position is responsible for a wide range of tasks that ensure cleanliness, readiness, and organization within the venue’s operational environment. The Porter delivers products, stocks essential supplies, maintains cleanliness of all areas including kitchens and offices, and assists in setting up or breaking down functions as needed. Their duties extend to washing all china, glass, and silverware, cleaning equipment before, during, and after events, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment by following all safety policies and procedures. This role requires a flexible schedule to accommodate the varied demands of venue events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate for the Porter role will possess a strong commitment to safety, hygiene, and professionalism. They must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, maintain punctuality, and exhibit excellent communication skills in English. Physical stamina is essential as the role involves constant standing, bending, lifting, and transporting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Additionally, prior knowledge of food and beverage service standards and guest relations is preferred, ensuring the Porter can effectively support the hospitality functions of the venue.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to read, speak, and write English to communicate with staff and guests
  • ability to work all venue events and maintain a flexible schedule including extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work in open aired environment in all climate conditions
  • must be punctual and dependable
  • must maintain personal hygiene and well-groomed appearance per company and venue standards
  • must have sufficient mobility to perform tasks including standing, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Washes all china, glass, and silverware
  • cleans all equipment, pots, and pans pre, during, and post-event
  • stores all equipment in proper locations
  • sweeps and mops all floors in kitchen/office areas
  • maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • practices safe work habits, follows all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, completes company-wide safety training and job-specific safety training
  • transports food and equipment throughout the venue as needed
  • monitors cleaning supply stock levels per venue needs
  • ensures assigned areas are kept clean and orderly
  • performs and assists with routine inventory daily of required stock
  • ensures requisitions are delivered timely
  • assists with deliveries and stocking storerooms and side stations
  • assists members in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
  • fulfills assigned opening and closing duties as assigned by the Chef
  • performs other duties as assigned by management
