The position of Casino Porter at Gold Ranch Casino is a crucial role responsible for cleaning and maintaining public and employee areas of the property, ensuring that the casino's environment remains spotless, welcoming, and well-maintained. This role involves following departmental policies and procedures meticulously to deliver consistent results that meet the casino’s standards. The Casino Porter will be tasked with preparing for shifts by gathering necessary supplies such as garbage bags, gloves, cleaning chemicals, and equipment, and then proceeding to assigned sections as per the daily assignment sheets.
The role includes numerous cleaning duties such as sanitizing public restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and emptying trash and ashtrays throughout the casino property. Additional responsibilities include wiping down slot machines and chairs to remove dust, fingerprints, and spills, ensuring no spills or debris remain in any area including the Sports Lounge, Guest Service Center, parking areas, stairways, and hallways. The porter must also clean glass doors, mirrors, walls, furniture, and equipment both inside and outside the building, and maintain administrative areas by emptying trash.
In addition to direct cleaning tasks, this position requires an individual who can follow instructions and safety protocols provided by supervisors carefully, work steadily to keep up with the department schedule, and contribute positively to the team environment. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally
- ability to handle heavy-duty equipment
- must be able to push and pull heavy duty equipment
- prolonged walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching and kneeling without restriction
- ability to withstand working with chemicals and noise of equipment
Job Qualifications
- One year experience working as a porter within casino environment preferred
- must be able to communicate effectively in English language - speak and read
- experience working with variety of chemicals and standard cleaning equipment
- must be able to work at a steady pace to ensure that department schedule is kept
- ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- ability to work well with others and with minimum supervision
- good customer service skills and employee relations skills
Job Duties
- Gets ready for shift by gathering garbage bags, gloves, chemicals, supplies
- proceeds to assigned section and follows daily assignment sheet
- cleans, sanitizes, and maintains public restrooms per assignment sheet
- sweeps, mops, vacuums floors, and empties trash cans and ashtrays throughout casino property
- wipes down all slot machines and chairs from dust, fingerprints and spills
- ensures all areas of casino are free of spills, mishaps, and eating/drinking utensils
- cleans and maintains outside areas of casino including stairways, parking lot, hallways
- cleans glass doors, mirrors, walls, equipment and furniture inside and outside of building
- cleans admin areas and empties trash
- follows instructions and standards provided by supervisor
