We are currently hiring for the full-time Porter position located at MUSC NE - 120 Gateway Corporate Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29203. This role offers a fixed pay rate of $16.25 per hour and involves working Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with rotating weekends required. The position is integral to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for the front of the house, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. Morrison Healthcare welcomes applicants with prior cleaning and porter experience but is also willing to train motivated individuals. This role contributes directly to a positive customer experience by supporting smooth service flow and upholding safety standards in a fast-paced healthcare foodservice setting. As a Porter, your duties range from bussing and cleaning tables and floors during peak service times, washing dishes and cooking equipment, to assisting with heavy deliveries and maintaining sanitation compliance according to HACCP standards. This role also requires a strong personal commitment to safety practices and adherence to company policies concerning the use of protective equipment and safe lifting techniques. Job Requirements

Prior cleaning and porter experience preferred
Willingness to work Monday through Friday 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM including rotating weekends
Ability to lift heavy objects safely
Ability to follow safety protocols and company policies
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods
Must be able to work full time schedule
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior cleaning or porter experience preferred
Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Ability to work full time hours including rotating weekends
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and be trained on the job

Job Duties

Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front of the house including tables counters floors windows and beverage station
Ensures tables are bussed cleared and cleaned and floors are cleared and swept during peak service times and prepped prior to service
Follows safety procedures when transporting dishes and utensils from the front of the house to the kitchen area using trays bus tubs or carts
Washes dishes glasses and pots and cleans cooking stations and equipment maintaining sanitation standards
Scrapes and rinses food from dishes and washes them by hand or uses dishwashing machine ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation
Keeps display equipment clean free of debris and compliant with safety and sanitation standards during meal service
Helps receive heavy deliveries and transports them to storage areas following safe lifting standards
Ensures proper presentation portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
Adheres to all company safety policies including use of appropriate gloves oven mitts and slip-resistant shoes
Performs other duties as assigned
