The Porter role at gategroup is vital in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in critical operational areas to support the overall smooth functioning of the facility. This position focuses on daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and corporate requirements. The workplace includes different zones such as dish rooms, coolers, utility areas, locker rooms, restrooms, office spaces, and transportation areas both indoors and outdoors. Job Requirements
- Work assigned schedule which may vary and could include weekends and holidays
- Works overtime when required
- Arrives to work on-time
- Must comply with company policies
- Completes paperwork and related administrative duties
- Able to lift, push, pull, and move up to fifty pounds frequently during shift
- Must handle pork, poultry, meat and fish products
- Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
- Works with chemicals and industrial cleaning materials
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8 plus hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one-year experience preferred
- Ability to read and write to complete required forms
- Effective communication with supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
Job Duties
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums and performs other cleaning tasks as required
- Empties trash within the building
- Maintains sanitation in compliance with sanitation standards and corporate requirements
- Follows directions carefully
- Works as a member of a team
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management
