The current opening is for a Per Diem Food Service Worker role at Sisters of Charity Hospital. This position is integral to the daily operations related to food service within the hospital. The Food Service Worker plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a positive service culture by ensuring that meals are assembled and distributed efficiently to patients, residents, and visitors. This role ensures adherence to safe food handling procedures, which is critical in maintaining food safety and patient health. The responsibilities include performing a variety of tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment, transporting meals, equipment, and supplies as requested by supervisors, and maintaining all storage areas in a clean, neat, and organized manner following established guidelines.
The shift involves working various schedules between 6 AM and 8 PM, with days and evenings including rotations during weekends and holidays. This Per Diem position allows flexibility in work hours while contributing to essential patient services. Employees in this role are part of the ACE Associates bargaining unit and are non-exempt from overtime. Working conditions may involve exposure to hazards related to electrical, mechanical, and power equipment, as well as cleaning chemicals and temperature extremes. The position requires standing and walking for most of the workday, with the ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.
