The Porters, Convention - Banquets Set up role at Resorts World Las Vegas is a vital position responsible for the timely and efficient preparation, maintenance, and breakdown of all banquet and convention events hosted at the resort. This role is integral to the smooth operation of meetings and special events, requiring a focus on detail, team collaboration, and guest satisfaction. The employee will be tasked with retrieving materials needed for event setups, carefully handling all types of banquet equipment including tables, chairs, and catering supplies. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, care, and cleanliness in all banquet service areas to ensure a positive experience for all guests and banquet team members.
Banquet porters must demonstrate knowledge of the banquet facilities and actively maintain banquet service inventory and equipment in excellent condition. A unique aspect of this position includes the operation of resort vehicles to transport event materials between venues, which necessitates holding and maintaining the appropriate licensing. Communication skills and a guest-oriented attitude are essential, as the position involves direct interaction with banquet members and guests while supporting a friendly and professional environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience 1-3 years in field
- At least 18 years of age
- At least six months of previous experience as a banquet porter in a similar or related field
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Polished appearance and demeanor
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting preferred
Job Duties
- Quickly and efficiently retrieve all materials needed for event setup
- Display proper care, movement and storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, and catering equipment
- Assist with inventory control of catering equipment and furniture
- Provide prompt, courteous service to banquet members and guests while maintaining a friendly and pleasant atmosphere
- Maintain safe sanitary conditions in all banquet service areas and for all banquet services equipment
- Safely drive and maintain vehicles used for transporting event materials
- Demonstrate full knowledge of banquet areas and keep banquet service areas properly stocked
- Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing
- Use personal device for job related operational tasks
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
- Ensure all venues are well-maintained and cleaned prior to and after an event
