The position available is for a Porter CDL Driver at the Capitol Heights, MD branch. This is a full-time or part-time, non-exempt hourly role reporting directly to the Service Manager or Branch Manager with a typical work schedule from Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The Porter CDL Driver plays a critical role in supporting daily operations by managing vehicle movement and parking, ensuring the company’s fleet remains organized and well-maintained. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of accountability and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a self-motivated attitude, excellent safety driving skills, and experience working with fleet vehicles while interacting professionally with both internal teams and external customers.
Key responsibilities include moving and parking buses, vans, and other vehicles within the lot and to various metropolitan locations, performing vehicle inspections, documenting any damages, fueling vehicles, and assisting with vehicle preparation. The Porter CDL Driver is also responsible for keeping the parking lot neat and presentable, supporting rental readiness by ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and inspected. This role demands strict adherence to all company safety protocols, as it is classified as a safety-sensitive position, and requires candidates to comply with pre-employment drug screening and ongoing testing policies. The environment includes both office and outdoor settings, requiring physical activity such as walking, standing, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
Candidates must hold a valid driving license, a CDL with passenger endorsement, and DOT medical certification. Participation in DOT drug and alcohol screening and compliance with internal safety requirements is also mandatory. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. The Porter CDL Driver must be ready to travel within the metropolitan area of the assigned company location, driving company vehicles as part of daily job duties.

Job Duties
- maintain an organized and professional parking lot by conducting daily lot organization and monitoring
- complete check-out and return inspections for all rental vehicles accurately and in a timely manner
- identify, document, and report any vehicle damage upon return
- ensure the back lot remains organized, clean, and properly staged
- move and stage vehicles as needed to support daily operations and customer needs
- pick up and deliver customer vehicles when required
- fuel vehicles and top off all necessary fluids to maintain rental readiness
- transport vehicles between vendors, customers, and designated staging areas
- assist the detailer with cleaning and preparing vehicles as needed
- support overall rental readiness by ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, inspected, and ready for customer use
- follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- communicate any vehicle concerns, maintenance needs, or operational issues to management promptly
