This position is classified as non-exempt and offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities at the Nashville, TN location, with a flexible work schedule to accommodate varying operational demands. Reporting directly to the Service Manager or Branch Manager, the Porter CDL Driver plays a crucial role in managing the company’s fleet and ensuring smooth operations on a daily basis. In this role, individuals will be responsible for the movement and parking of buses, vans, and other vehicles within the company’s lot as well as delivering these vehicles to various locations within the Nashville metropolitan area and potentially to other client or company locations as assigned.

The Porter CDL Driver must exhibit an exceptional attention to detail, commendable accountability for their workload, and a natural affinity for process improvement and management. This position demands a self-motivated individual who can multitask efficiently and prioritize responsibilities while maintaining a high level of safety and care for all property entrusted to them. Duties entail not only managing the logistical aspects of vehicle movement and parking but also include responsibilities such as performing vehicle check-outs and returns, noting any damages, assisting with vehicle detailing, and ensuring that the company's parking lots are organized and presentable at all times.

Success in this role requires safe driving skills and previous experience working within fleet management, as well as excellent customer service skills and good judgment. The company emphasizes safety-sensitive protocols, requiring employees to comply with strict drug and alcohol screening policies and adhere to all DOT regulations. Physical demands include occasional lifting of supplies, standing, walking, and handling various vehicle- and office-related tasks.

Job Duties

  • assist in organizing the parking lot daily
  • use radios for each shuttle following guidelines and using proper radio etiquette
  • perform check-out and return on every vehicle for rental
  • note damage to units upon return
  • keep the back lot organized
  • bring vehicles in when needed
  • pick up customer vehicles
  • fuel vehicles and top off fluids when necessary
  • transport vehicles
  • assist detailer as needed
