Job Description

Black Walnut Inn is a distinguished hospitality establishment known for its exquisite event venues and exceptional service. Located in a scenic and convenient location, the Inn specializes in hosting banquets, weddings, private parties, and a variety of other events that demand a combination of elegance, precision, and attentive service. As a part-time employer, Black Walnut Inn offers flexible scheduling options ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income in a dynamic hospitality environment. The Food & Beverage and Events departments work in tandem to deliver seamless experiences that meet and exceed guest expectations. With a reputation grounded in quality and attention to detail, the Inn maintains a focus on cultivating a team-first culture and fostering a professional yet welcoming work environment for its staff.

The Part-Time Event Porter position at Black Walnut Inn plays a critical role behind the scenes to uphold the smooth operation of events held on the premises. Reporting directly to the Events Manager and Banquet Captain, the Event Porter assists with all aspects of event setup, breakdown, and logistical support to ensure that event spaces are impeccably prepared and maintained throughout each occasion. This essential role supports banquet servers and leadership by handling physical tasks such as setting up tables, chairs, linens, staging, and service stations per Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). The Event Porter also ensures that the event space is promptly reset and restored to its standard layout after each function.

Key responsibilities extend beyond setup and teardown to include maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the scenes, replenishing supplies, assisting with trash removal and post-event cleaning, and responding swiftly to any requests or adjustments during events. The position demands physical stamina and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with event schedules, embracing both indoor and outdoor environments influenced by weather conditions.

Offering a starting salary of $19 per hour plus service charge, this part-time role is ideal for candidates who bring a strong work ethic, a team-first mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical tasks safely in a fast-paced, customer focused setting. While previous event or hospitality experience is preferred, it is not required, making this a great opportunity for individuals seeking to grow their skills in event support and hospitality operations. The Event Porter position is integral to achieving Black Walnut Inn's commitment to exceptional hospitality by ensuring every event space is presented at the highest standard and that all logistical details are handled efficiently and professionally.
