Job Duties
- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
- works from a schedule outlining frequency and timing of tasks
- leads cleaning crews or manages assigned projects
- empties trash, biomedical waste, and recyclables and transports them to collection sites
- operates compactors and packages biomedical waste
- strips and refinishes floors, extracts carpets, performs dry and wet mopping
- washes walls and windows
- hangs and removes draperies and cubicle curtains
- washes and repairs beds, wheelchairs, and other patient equipment
- moves, removes, and relocates furniture and equipment
- sets up for meetings and special events
- performs isolation and terminal cleaning
- communicates effectively with residents and patients
- attends departmental and health center meetings
- follows universal precautions and infection control standards
- operates vacuum cleaners and mechanical floor/carpet machines
- assists other departments as needed
- performs other related duties as required
