Job Description

Aramark is a global leader in food services, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of people every day across 15 countries. Known for its commitment to quality and excellence, Aramark operates in a variety of settings, including healthcare, education, sports, leisure, and business sectors. The company aims to make a positive difference for its clients and communities by providing exceptional services that create memorable experiences and enhance daily operations. With a workforce united by a strong mission to do great things for others, Aramark offers diverse career opportunities that foster professional growth, skill development, and personal fulfillment. The company values inclusivity and equal employment opportunities, emphasizing a workplace free from discrimination and welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life.

This Porter role at Aramark is a union position under Unite Here 11 and plays a crucial part in the smooth functioning of event-based food service operations within a large convention or event center. Porters are responsible for receiving and processing incoming products, preparing orders for transport, and conducting inventory and quality control duties to ensure accurate and timely movement of supplies and food items to retail food stands and various portable locations throughout the facility. Working in an event-based environment, employees typically work around 6 to 8 events annually, with schedules and hours varying depending on event needs. The role requires careful attention to inventory management principles, including FIFO (first in, first out) controls, and demands physical rigor such as lifting up to 75 pounds and operating warehouse machinery. Aramark provides this role with a starting hourly wage of $21.80, which increases based on the number of shifts completed as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

In addition to physical and operational responsibilities, the Porter contributes to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and compliance with OSHA standards, SDS guidelines, and emergency procedures within the workspace. Effective communication with clients, vendors, coworkers, and management is also an essential aspect of the job. Aramark supports employee development by encouraging skill-building and flexibility, acknowledging that job duties may evolve to meet business demands. Eligible employees benefit from comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and work-life resources designed to promote well-being and security. This position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking unionized, event-centric work with a reputable company that prioritizes service excellence, diversity, and career growth in a dynamic workplace environment.
