The role of Porter at Cal-Am Properties involves maintaining and enhancing the value of common area amenities within various communities, including the clubhouse, fitness center, and pool areas. The Porter is responsible for various cleaning and maintenance duties, including light housekeeping, ensuring that facilities remain clean, organized, and in good condition. Customer service is an essential aspect of this role, as the Porter regularly interacts with residents and is expected to represent the company professionally at all times. This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some weekend work required on occasion to meet the propertys needs or address emergencies. The position offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $20.00 to $21.00 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and participation in a 401K retirement plan.

The Porter at Cal-Am plays a key role in supporting the maintenance team by handling tasks such as restocking supplies in restrooms, cleaning community vehicles, monitoring pool cleanliness, and ensuring pool water levels are properly maintained. They assist with setting up mini model homes for showings and maintain communication with the Property Manager to address resident service requests efficiently. On-call emergency service may also be part of the responsibilities, highlighting the importance of reliability and responsiveness in this position.
