The Porter role at BH is a vital position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of both exterior grounds and interior common areas within BH-managed properties. The position reports directly to the Community Manager and carries no direct reports. This full-time onsite role focuses on creating an inviting, well-maintained living environment for residents and prospective tenants alike. Key responsibilities include maintaining exterior landscape areas, parking lots, sidewalks, building exteriors, and gutters to ensure pristine conditions. Inside, duties extend to upkeep of common areas, trash management including move-out trash disposal, and support with pool area maintenance. The Porter is also tasked with organizing and cleaning work areas and maintenance shops, contributing to operational efficiency and workplace safety. Communication responsibilities such as posting community notices when necessary further support smooth property management operations.

Ideal candidates possess prior experience or knowledge in grounds maintenance, landscaping, janitorial, or general building upkeep. A working understanding of basic maintenance tools and cleaning equipment is essential, and familiarity with computer skills to support job functions is highly valued. Physical stamina and mobility are also critical, as the job requires lifting up to 50 pounds, continuous movement including bending, stooping, and climbing stairs, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
