Job Description

BH is a people-first multifamily owner and operator that has evolved from a small startup into one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the United States. Founded in 1993, BH is widely recognized for its commitment to ethical business practices and investing in its employees. Managing over 100,000 residential units and employing more than 2,800 people, BH proudly owns its in-house processes. The company has been lauded by Fortune Magazine as a "Best Workplace for Women," "Best Workplace for Millennials," and one of the "Best Workplaces for Diversity." BH is driven by innovation and a positive attitude, constantly striving to create smarter living, investment, management, and growth strategies.

BH is passionate about setting the industry standard in multifamily property management. The company culture is built around a team of motivated individuals who think ambitiously, pay close attention to detail, and embrace a fun yet professional work environment. BH values accountability and resilience, encouraging team members to learn from their mistakes and approach challenges with optimism. This supportive and dynamic environment makes BH a proud and forward-thinking employer ready to face the future.

As a Porter at BH, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the upkeep and appearance of the multifamily properties under the company’s management. This full-time, onsite position reports directly to the Community Manager and involves maintaining the condition of both exterior grounds and interior common areas. The Porter’s responsibilities include trash management, landscaping upkeep, organization of work areas, and supporting overall property cleanliness. This role requires a strong commitment to service excellence, ensuring that residents and visitors experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

The Porter will represent BH professionally and courteously, embodying the company's values in every task. This position requires an individual with a basic understanding of grounds maintenance, janitorial duties, and the use of maintenance tools and equipment. While prior experience in these areas is preferred, BH also values candidates with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and dedication to quality service.

Physical stamina is essential for this role, as the Porter will engage in lifting, continuous movement, and outdoor work in various weather conditions. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday, with a possibility of overtime and on-call duties to support business needs.

At BH, our employees are our greatest asset. As such, working as a Porter not only allows you to contribute to the upkeep and success of our communities but also provides an opportunity to grow within a company committed to diversity, inclusion, and career development. Join BH and be part of a thriving team that values your efforts and supports your professional journey.
