Job Description

Gerber Collision & Glass stands as a beacon of excellence in the automotive repair industry, boasting over 80 years of dedicated service in collision and glass repair. As part of The Boyd Group, one of North America's largest operators of collision repair centers, Gerber Collision & Glass has established itself as a trusted name synonymous with quality, integrity, and innovation. The company prides itself on assembling great teams intentionally designed for success, fostering an environment where employees are encouraged to excel and contribute meaningfully. With a focus on delivering top-tier customer experiences and maintaining industry leadership, Gerber continually invests in its workforce by providing the infrastructure and support necessary for professional growth and career advancement.

Gerber Collision & Glass is currently seeking passionate and detail-oriented Porters to join their dynamic team. The Porter role plays a critical part in the company's operations by ensuring customer vehicles are impeccably prepared before and after repairs, thereby enhancing overall customer satisfaction. This position involves maintaining cleanliness and organization not only of the vehicles but also of the shop and office facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and employees.

In this role, candidates will execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently, which encapsulates the company's commitment to operational excellence and exceptional customer experience. Daily responsibilities include cleaning and organizing office spaces through tasks such as emptying garbage, dusting, and maintaining floors, alongside similar duties in the production areas where vehicle parts and tools must be handled diligently. Porters are also responsible for maintaining the outdoor appearance of the facilities, including parking lots and sidewalks, which may involve shoveling during inclement weather.

A key aspect of the job is handling customer vehicles with care—pre-washing them before repairs start and thoroughly cleaning them inside and out once repairs are complete. Additionally, Porters transport vehicles to sublet locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery for specialized repair services. This multifaceted role requires physical stamina and a proactive attitude, suiting those who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Gerber Collision & Glass values diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds, including those with disabilities and protected veteran status. The company offers competitive compensation ranging from $14 to $19 per hour, commensurate with skill, education, and experience, and potential bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives. Employment with Gerber is designed to be more than just a job; it is an opportunity to grow within a respected organization that supports career progression and values its employees' contributions. For those who thrive in roles emphasizing reliability, attention to detail, and customer service, the Porter position is an excellent gateway to a fulfilling career in the automotive repair sector.

By joining Gerber Collision & Glass, employees become part of a larger mission to deliver outstanding service and uphold a company culture built on integrity, teamwork, and excellence. Each team member is empowered to contribute to a positive and respectful workplace, making Gerber a standout employer in the collision repair industry.
