Job Description

Asset Living is a distinguished third-party property management firm that has been fostering thriving residential communities across the United States since its establishment in 1986. With decades of expertise in property management, Asset Living has evolved from a modest management company into one of the most reliable and trusted partners within the real estate industry. The company manages a diverse portfolio that includes multifamily residences, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult living spaces, and student housing. Asset Living's reputation for excellence is built on a foundation of commitment to client satisfaction, community development, and innovative management practices.

At Asset Living, the core philosophy ‘Together We Lead, Together We Succeed’ drives every aspect of the organization. The company fosters a culture where collaboration, leadership by example, and continuous innovation coexist, empowering employees and clients to achieve shared success. This dynamic environment embraces diversity and nurtures talent from various backgrounds, which propels the company’s growth and enhances service quality. Recognized as one of the nation's Best and Brightest Places to Work and ranking among the NMHC top 50 professionals, Asset Living is committed to delivering exceptional value through purposeful property management tailored to the needs of each community.

The Porter role at Asset Living is a vital support position focused on the maintenance and upkeep of the properties under management. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter plays a crucial role in executing corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance tasks. This includes assisting in the make-ready process to ensure units and community spaces are prepared and maintained according to operational standards. The Porter’s responsibilities extend to maintaining the aesthetic and safety standards of the property through regular cleaning, inspection, and repair work across various areas such as grounds, buildings, breezeways, and common indoor and outdoor areas. This position requires a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to quality service, safety compliance, and prompt response to resident and management requests.

The role demands a proactive attitude towards hazard identification and maintenance, as well as adherence to key company policies including OSHA safety guidelines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage maintenance supplies and equipment in an efficient and safe manner are essential for success. The Porter also contributes to maintaining a preventative maintenance program, supporting efforts to expand the longevity of the community infrastructure while reducing future repair needs.

In addition to maintenance tasks, this role emphasizes excellent customer service, ensuring timely and courteous responses to service requests, fostering a positive community image, consistent resident interaction, and enforcement of community policies delegated by supervisors. Given the physical nature of the job, it involves outdoor work, operating various equipment, lifting, and performing repetitive motions, and sometimes working in varied weather conditions and confined spaces.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage between $18 and $19, with compensation tailored based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and certifications. Asset Living complements this salary with a robust total rewards package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, along with commission and performance bonuses when applicable. Additional benefits such as paid sick days and company holidays are provided to full-time employees. This role is ideal for individuals seeking meaningful work in property management within a supportive and growth-driven company where every employee’s contribution is valued and recognized.
