The Porter role at Asset Living is essential in maintaining the quality and functionality of the properties under management. The Porter supports all maintenance activities, including corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance of the property. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and proper upkeep of the community's buildings, grounds, breezeways, and both interior and exterior common areas. This role requires regular onsite presence, responsiveness to resident and management maintenance requests, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards or repair needs. The Porter also assists in the make-ready process for units and helps maintain preventative maintenance programs that extend the life of community assets while minimizing costly repairs. This position demands a practical understanding of safety standards, OSHA regulations, and Fair Housing Laws. The Porter must maintain a well-organized maintenance shop, manage resources efficiently, and participate in unit inspections and emergency on-call duties when needed. Strong customer service skills are vital in this role, as the Porter represents the community to residents and ensures excellent communication and adherence to property policies.
