Job Description

Core Spaces (Core) is a dynamic real estate investment manager that prioritizes people as much as properties, fostering an inclusive culture based on six core values: PUSH (Invent Better Places to Live), GRIT (We Got This), LIFT (Help Each Other Win), SHINE (Bring Your Full Self), UPHOLD (Never Break Trust), and GROW (Always Get Better). Founded in 2010, Core specializes in acquiring, developing, and managing student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) residential communities, which feature progressive design, world-class amenities, and hospitality-driven services. With a portfolio exceeding 74,440 student housing beds and over 3,000 BTR homes under development or lease across high-growth metropolitan areas, Core is a leading innovator dedicated to transforming how people experience living spaces.

The company culture promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement to enhance the resident experience, making Core more than just a real estate company but a people company that values building enduring relationships alongside pioneering better living environments.

The role of a Porter at Core Spaces is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and curb appeal of the property and supporting the overall upkeep of the community's environment. This on-site position involves executing groundskeeping and daily cleaning duties, ensuring facilities remain inviting and operational. The Porter is responsible for tasks such as trash removal and preparation for waste pickup, maintenance of landscaping between contracted service visits, cleaning pool areas, arranging furniture, and daily mopping and vacuuming of all assigned areas. Additionally, the Porter plays a crucial part in keeping amenity areas presentable throughout the day and ensuring product presentation consistently meets Core's brand and company standards.

The position requires physical capability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly, including bending and stooping throughout the workday. Work schedules are full-shift and on-site, with flexibility to cover additional hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime, especially during peak periods like move-outs and move-ins.

Core Spaces offers a competitive pay structure, paid flexible paid time off (PTO), paid holidays including birthday leave, paid parental and volunteer leave, and robust health plans commencing within 30 days, among other benefits. The company fosters an environment where every employee's voice matters, emphasizing belonging, support through Employee Assistance Programs, retirement planning with 401(k) options offering matching and Roth accounts, monthly workshop weeks with fewer meetings, and wellness measures like phone reimbursement and meditation app subscriptions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in simple computer tasks, and preferably one year of experience in maintenance or skilled trades. Prior exposure to student housing or multi-family residential sectors is a plus. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Porter is pivotal to delivering exceptional living standards and upholding Core’s mission to continuously grow and improve in service and operational excellence.
