The position of Porter at Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk is essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service that define the brand. The Porter plays a pivotal role as a member of the team, ensuring the restaurant environment is spotless, organized, and well-maintained at all times. This role involves supporting both front-of-house and back-of-house operations by handling various cleaning tasks, restocking supplies like flatware, stemware, and bar glassware, and assisting with dishwashing and maintaining sanitation standards. Key responsibilities include cleaning floors, maintaining the dish machine, polishing silverware and wine glasses, supporting the bar, managing waste removal, and helping with proper receiving of products and inventory. The Porter is also expected to uphold the company’s service standards by fostering positive professional relationships and maintaining a professional image throughout each shift.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and some holidays
  • Ability to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours per shift
  • Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length
  • Ability to perform essential functions to Piccolo Buco and Cooper’s Hawk standards with reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests with hospitality and friendliness
  • Ensure cleanliness of Piccolo Buco including keeping the floors clean following wash n walk procedures, cleaning surfaces, cleaning and maintaining restrooms
  • Polish flatware and ensure silverware are neat and tight in napkin fold
  • Follow proper wine glass polishing procedure and zone stemware for team members to take out for full hands in and out of the kitchen
  • Support in restocking the bar with glassware and beverage station with glassware
  • Support with removing full bus tubs from the bar and replace with a clean empty bus tub
  • Assist operational excellence by cleaning and restocking all plates, dishes, utensils, glasses, silverware, pots, pans in the restaurant
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized and stocked work area
  • Clean and maintain the dishwasher as directed
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen floors as needed or as directed
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe back dock by cleaning it as required
  • Ensure a clean work environment by breaking down and removing all garbage and boxes to the dumpster or designated area
  • Assist in receiving products when requested
  • Adhere to all kitchen systems and standards
  • Adhere to all Piccolo Buco and Cooper’s Hawk service standards
  • Follow departmental checklists and standard operating procedures to ensure work areas are prepared for opening, mid-shift or closing in accordance with company guidelines
  • Maintain professional relationships with all managers and team members
  • Maintain a professional image at all times by adhering to all appearance and behavior guidelines in the employee handbook
  • Perform other duties as assigned
