The Porter position at Gerber Collision & Glass plays a vital role in complementing the quality repair services by maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of customer vehicles before delivery. This full-time role is designed for individuals who take pride in attention to detail and fostering a clean and safe work environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring daily housekeeping tasks are performed consistently in both office and production areas, maintaining neat parking lots and grounds, and conducting pre- and post-repair cleaning of customer vehicles. In addition, the Porter is responsible for transporting vehicles to sublet locations as necessary. This role requires physical stamina such as walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work near moving mechanical parts.

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
  • Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
