Job Description

Asset Living is a well-established third-party property management firm with a rich history dating back to 1986. With decades of expertise in managing multifamily properties, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult housing, and student housing, Asset Living has grown organically from a modest management company into one of the most respected names in real estate management nationwide. Its portfolio spans a diverse range of property types, providing comprehensive management solutions across the United States. This growth and success are fueled by a passionate and dedicated team of professionals whose diverse backgrounds foster innovation, creativity, and tangible results for its clients and the communities it serves.

As a company, Asset Living embodies a culture of unity and shared achievement, summarizing its ethos in the belief that 'Together We Lead, Together We Succeed.' This mentality highlights an inclusive work environment where every employee’s ideas and contributions are valued, encouraging continuous personal and organizational growth. Recognized as one of the nation's Best and Brightest Places to Work, and ranked among the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) top 50 professionals, Asset Living is also a proud member of The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and holds the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) designation. These credentials emphasize Asset Living’s commitment to excellence, leadership, ethical management practices, and the highest standards in property management.

The role of a Porter at Asset Living involves playing a crucial part in the daily maintenance and upkeep of residential communities managed by the company. The Porter is responsible for executing corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance tasks across property grounds and common areas. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter supports the make-ready process for units, ensuring a smooth turnover and prime presentation aligned with the property's operational goals.

More than just upkeep, the Porter serves as an ambassador of the community, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Duties include cleaning, trash removal, inspection of grounds and buildings, timely response to resident and management requests, and participation in the property's preventative maintenance program. The position demands daily onsite attendance and active communication within the maintenance team to uphold safety standards and compliance with OSHA guidelines.
