The Porter position within the Nutrition Service department is a full-time, benefit-eligible role designed for individuals passionate about maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and support in a dynamic healthcare environment. Working under the guidance of the Nutrition Services Manager and Supervisor, the Porter will be tasked with ensuring cleanliness across various retail and patient service areas, including coffee kiosks. Attention to detail and dedication to sanitation excellence are crucial as the responsibility covers all aspects of service cleanliness. The role also involves ware washing, managing pot and pan supplies in the cooks’ area, and supporting operational needs in other departments as required. Additionally, the Porter will handle vendor receiving from the dock, storage organization, and storeroom maintenance. This is a physically active role that may also require transporting food to satellite locations within Parkview Health’s network. The position requires flexibility and the ability to work across all Parkview entities as needed.

Upon hire, individuals will be automatically enrolled in the Nutrition Services Career Path, a structured development program designed to provide unique learning and skill-building opportunities. Completion of this Career Path results in an additional $3.50 per hour increase, highlighting Parkview Health’s commitment to employee growth and rewarding dedication. The role demands strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, making it a great opportunity for those who thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. The scheduled work hours are daytime shifts from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm, facilitating a consistent routine with opportunities for full-time employee benefits. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged preferred
  • minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred
  • must be 16 years of age
  • ability to lift 40 pounds
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking
  • ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, stooping, and bending

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience in nutritional services in a medical or hospital setting preferred
  • must be 16 years of age
