The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is a vital position focused on enhancing the overall customer experience by ensuring that vehicles are cleaned and properly maintained throughout the repair process. As part of this position, a Porter will be responsible for a range of tasks, including pre-washing vehicles before repairs, performing post-repair cleanup, and transporting vehicles to sublet locations when necessary. The role demands a willingness to multitask, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, and kneeling. Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
  • Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • Perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
