Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is a respected healthcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional rehabilitation and long-term care services to its community. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Porter/Floor Care team member to join our housekeeping department. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility to ensure that residents live in a comfortable and healthy environment. The Porter/Floor Care professional will be responsible for tasks that include cleaning, floor maintenance, and ensuring that the living spaces are free from odors and debris. This position is full-time with a consistent 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. schedule, providing stability and work-life balance. The role offers weekly pay at a competitive rate of $18 per hour. The successful candidate will be part of a team that values cooperation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining hygienic conditions throughout the center.
In this role, the porter will perform a variety of duties such as wet mopping, carpet shampooing, buffing floors, managing waste disposal, and disinfecting resident areas including beds and rails. The position requires careful attention to detail to uphold the high standards expected by the facility, involving tasks such as stripping, sealing, and refinishing floors on a scheduled basis. The role also demands immediate response to spills to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the cleaning of windows, mirrors, furniture, and personal items to ensure an overall inviting atmosphere. Candidates should be able to work harmoniously with other staff members and interact tactfully with residents and their families. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructional procedures accurately are critical for success in this role.

Job Duties
- Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean, and free from odor
- Perform daily wet mopping, shampooing, and extracting carpets
- Buff floors and attend to spills immediately
- Empty trash liners and clean containers
- Clean bed and rails with disinfectant
- Clean countertops, windowsills, bedside tables, furniture, and over-the-bed
- Strip, seal, and refinish floors as scheduled
- Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up
- Clean windows and mirrors
- Clean personal items, pictures, decorations, flowers, etc.
