The role of Porter at Asset Living is an integral part of the community maintenance operations. The Porter supports the maintenance processes vital to sustaining the property's aesthetic and functional standards. This full-time position works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager to perform corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance tasks. The position is essential in ensuring that the property remains well-maintained, clean, safe, and welcoming for its residents and visitors. Responsibilities extend to managing the make-ready process for units, maintaining community common areas, and addressing maintenance issues promptly. The Porter’s duties are diverse, encompassing outdoor and indoor maintenance, trash removal, grounds inspection, and minor repairs, all framed by a commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA guidelines.

Job Duties

  • Regular/daily onsite attendance is required
  • Responsible for cleaning, trash removal, and general maintenance of grounds, buildings, breezeways, and all interior and exterior community common areas
  • Respond to resident/management requests and work orders for community common areas, buildings, and units in a timely manner
  • Ensure all repairs and replacements necessary for grounds, buildings, breezeways, and community common areas are completed in a timely manner
  • Inspect grounds, buildings, and other community features daily to identify, minimize, and correct hazardous property conditions or liability concerns
  • Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance program that extends the life of the community while minimizing future repairs
  • Maintain a well-organized and adequately stocked maintenance shop while adhering to safety standards and OSHA guidelines
