By joining Asset Living, employees become part of a dedicated team focused on shared success and leadership.

The role of a Porter at Asset Living plays a critical part in maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and operational functionality of managed properties. The Porter works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager and is primarily responsible for supporting the maintenance processes of the property. These responsibilities include corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance tasks. Key duties include participation in the make-ready process to prepare units for new residents, maintaining grounds and community common areas, responding to resident and management requests promptly, and assisting in hazard identification and property safety efforts. The Porter also participates in maintaining a preventative maintenance program to increase property longevity and reduce repair costs. A well-organized maintenance shop, adherence to safety standards including OSHA guidelines, and active involvement in the hazard communications program are priorities in this role. Customer service and community relations are also essential as the Porter projects a positive image of the property and helps enforce community policies consistently.

This position requires regular onsite attendance and the physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, working in various weather conditions, ascending ladders, and navigating uneven terrain. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills to use on-site software, and fundamental knowledge of Fair Housing laws and OSHA requirements. The hourly pay range is $19 to $22, and full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance, 401K with employer matching, commission and performance bonuses, paid sick days, and company holidays.
