Our client is a reputable facility management organization dedicated to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments across various commercial and residential properties. Specializing in comprehensive custodial services, our client prides itself on employing highly skilled professionals equipped with the latest techniques and equipment to ensure immaculate upkeep of all assigned areas. As part of their growth, they are currently seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Porters to join their team, delivering top-tier cleaning and maintenance services across multiple settings including kitchen facilities, gym areas, meeting rooms, office spaces, and more.

The Porters are essential to the smooth operation and sanitation of our client's facilities, working within a scheduled rotation from Thursday through Monday between 7am and 11am. The role offers a competitive wage ranging from $18 to $20 per hour, with direct custodial experience being highly valued. Porters are responsible for an array of cleaning and maintenance tasks that include general cleaning, trash removal, floor care, restocking supplies, and specialized duties such as pressure washing, pool cleaning, groundskeeping, and snow removal depending on seasonal needs. This position requires individuals who are equipped to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, carpet extractors, and blowers while adhering strictly to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines for cleaning chemicals. Additionally, this role demands strong time management capabilities, customer service skills, and the ability to process verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.

Success in this position demands physical stamina and the capability to perform various movements including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, stooping, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-3 years of directly related or closely related experience
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements including documentation safety required reporting and regulations
  • Knowledge of state or local governmental safety requirements
  • Knowledge of equipment associated with custodial trades
  • Ability to interpret and complete verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Time management and time-critical prioritization skills
  • Must be able to operate vacuum buffer carpet extractors blowers and equipment normally associated with custodial trades
  • Must handle cleaning chemicals with caution and follow manufacturer's label instructions
  • Must comply with the association safety program and meet safety requirements and standards
  • Must be able to sit stand walk kneel reach with hands and arms stoop crawl talk hear push pull grasp use hands and fingers have clear vision and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Perform general cleaning operations in assigned areas including kitchen facilities gym facilities meeting areas and office space
  • Perform other janitorial duties such as dusting windowsills and moldings light fixtures glass doors and panels vacuuming and removing spots from carpets wet mopping and buffing flooring cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains and washing solid areas of partitions doors and walls
  • Sweep mop and vacuum all area floors restrooms and break areas
  • Clean rest room facilities and replenish supplies
  • Perform general cleaning light floor care and special event set-ups
  • Collect and remove trash and recyclables
  • Prepare list of supplies for daily use and restock as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
