The role of the Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is an essential part of maintaining the high standards that the company upholds. The Porter complements the comprehensive repair services offered by the team by ensuring that customer vehicles are cleaned thoroughly before delivery, enhancing the customer experience through attention to detail and quality presentation. In addition to vehicle cleaning, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of both the shop and office facilities. This encompasses daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying garbage cans, sweeping floors, dusting surfaces, and disposing of unwanted vehicle parts and waste materials. The role further extends to keeping parking lots and grounds orderly and safe, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary, which contributes to an inviting and professional atmosphere for customers and employees alike. Pre-washing vehicles before repairs start and performing both interior and exterior cleanup after repairs are completed are critical duties that ensure vehicles meet company quality expectations before reaching the customer. Additionally, the Porter is tasked with transporting customer vehicles to sublet locations for necessary repairs, demonstrating the importance of reliability and organizational skills. Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
  • maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
