The Porter position at Gerber Collision & Glass plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall customer experience by ensuring vehicles are impeccably cleaned and prepared both before and after repairs. This role also supports the operational efficiency of the facility by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness that meets the company’s impressive standards. The Porter is responsible for interior and exterior vehicle cleaning, upkeep of shop and office areas, and managing the organization of tools and equipment. Additionally, this role includes the transportation of vehicles to sublet locations for further repair work. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who values customer service and is capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.

Job Duties

  • ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the office interior, including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting counters and work areas
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the production area, including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and organizing tools and equipment
  • maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including sidewalk shoveling when necessary
  • pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
