Job Description
Asset Living is a reputable third-party real estate management firm with a rich history dating back to 1986. Over the decades, it has cultivated a legacy of delivering exceptional value to its partners through dedicated property management services. From its modest beginnings as a small property management firm, Asset Living has evolved into a trusted name in the real estate industry with a diverse portfolio that spans multiple property types. This includes multifamily residences, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult housing, and student housing sectors. The company's commitment to excellence and innovation has fueled rapid growth and allowed it to expand its footprint nationwide.
Asset Living is powered by a team of talented, diverse individuals whose varied backgrounds foster creativity, innovation, and an inclusive work environment. The company operates with the core belief of "Together We Lead, Together We Succeed," emphasizing collaboration, leadership by example, and continuous improvement both personally and organizationally. At Asset Living, employees are empowered to share their ideas and contribute to a collective culture where every voice is appreciated and growth opportunities abound. This culture of unity and shared success sets Asset Living apart as a dynamic workplace where professional development and career advancement go hand-in-hand with contributing to thriving communities.
Recognized among the nation's Best and Brightest Places to Work and ranked among the top 50 professionals by the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), Asset Living has earned its reputation as one of the most trusted partners in real estate. Holding membership with The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and designated as an Accredited Management Organization (AMO), the company is consistently setting standards for operational excellence and industry leadership. Employees joining Asset Living enter a supportive work environment that values teamwork, integrity, and a shared commitment to outstanding property management and community enhancement.
The Porter role at Asset Living involves a wide range of essential maintenance duties critical to supporting the property’s upkeep and enhancing residents’ quality of life. The Porter assists in various maintenance tasks including corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager. This role is hands-on and requires regular onsite attendance to ensure community areas, grounds, buildings, breezeways, and common interior and exterior spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Porters play a pivotal role in responding promptly to resident and management requests and work orders, ensuring that all maintenance needs are addressed in a timely manner. They conduct daily inspections to identify potential hazards, liabilities, or equipment in need of repair, helping prevent costly future damages by assisting in the preventative maintenance program. Educated on key policies such as OSHA standards and Fair Housing Laws, the Porter maintains a safe, organized, and adequately stocked maintenance shop, adhering to safety guidelines and legislative requirements.
In addition to the maintenance responsibilities, the Porter contributes to creating a welcoming resident environment by providing excellent customer service, managing service request responsiveness, and ensuring community rules are upheld consistently. They serve as the face of the community in routine interactions, projecting a favorable image that supports the property’s objectives. The position also requires physical stamina, the ability to operate equipment safely, and the flexibility to participate in emergency on-call assignments as needed.
Asset Living offers full-time Porters a competitive wage around $17 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive total rewards package. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance options, a 401K plan with employer matching, paid sick days, company holidays, and eligibility for performance bonuses when applicable. This holistic approach ensures employees are supported both professionally and personally while contributing to the success of communities managed by Asset Living. Joining the company means becoming part of a forward-thinking organization with ample growth opportunities and a vibrant culture committed to collective achievement.
