Job Description
Core Spaces (Core) is a visionary real estate investment manager that transcends traditional property development by prioritizing people and relationships as the cornerstone of its business. Established in 2010, Core operates as a vertically integrated company specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) residential communities. With a keen focus on creating living spaces that blend progressive design, world-class amenities, and hospitality-driven services, Core strives to redefine how people live and experience their surroundings. The company's portfolio is extensive, including over 74,440 student housing beds currently owned or managed and a dynamic pipeline of more than 53,860 beds in active development. Likewise, the BTR division is expanding with over 3,000 homes either under construction, newly leasing, or planned across thriving metropolitan areas nationwide. Core’s culture is rooted in six foundational values that infuse everything they do: PUSH (Invent Better Places to Live), GRIT (We Got This), LIFT (Help Each Other Win), SHINE (Bring Your Full Self), UPHOLD (Never Break Trust), and GROW (Always Get Better). This deeply ingrained ethos promotes an innovative and collaborative environment that empowers employees to drive continual enhancements in resident experience and community development.
The Porter role at Core Spaces is integral to maintaining the quality and aesthetic appeal of the communities under the company’s care. Serving on-site, the Porter is responsible for a wide range of groundskeeping and cleaning duties that ensure properties are inviting, clean, and operationally efficient. This position requires dedication to daily maintenance tasks such as trash removal, landscaping upkeep, floor cleaning, and the maintenance of amenity areas including pools and outdoor furniture. The role is designed to support the overall resident experience by preserving the beauty and functionality of Core's residential environments. Porters work closely with supervisors to meet and exceed cleanliness and presentation standards set by the Core brand. This includes responding to the dynamic needs of the property through flexible scheduling which may involve evening, weekend, and overtime hours to handle move-ins, move-outs, and turnovers efficiently. Physical fitness is essential as the job demands regular lifting of objects up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions such as bending and stooping.
Core Spaces offers a comprehensive benefits package that reflects its commitment to employee well-being and workplace satisfaction. Employees enjoy competitive pay, incentive programs rewarding achievements, flexible paid time off including holidays and parental leave, and a supportive culture that embraces diversity and inclusion. Additional perks include health plans effective shortly after hire, wellness allowances, phone reimbursements, monthly workshop weeks designed for collaboration and fewer meetings, access to meditation apps, and employee assistance programs for confidential support. Retirement savings options such as 401(k) plans with matching and Roth contributions are also available, underscoring Core’s investment in long-term employee success and security. This role represents a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to contribute to a forward-thinking company that values both the spaces they create and the people who make those spaces thrive.
