The Porter position is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organization that Gerber Collision & Glass is known for. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks centered on vehicle preparation, such as pre-washing customer vehicles before repair work begins, thoroughly cleaning the interiors and exteriors following repairs, and transporting vehicles to sublet locations as required. Additionally, the Porter plays a crucial role in keeping both the shop and office areas clean and orderly. This involves routine housekeeping duties such as emptying trash bins, sweeping and dusting, managing waste disposal, and even maintaining the outdoor parking lots and grounds, including seasonal tasks like shoveling sidewalks. The position demands working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, and it requires physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, ensuring that physical demands are met or accommodations provided where necessary.
