The company has built its reputation on both technical expertise and a customer-first approach, supported by comprehensive resources and a collaborative team environment. At Gerber Collision & Glass, employees are valued as part of a "Greater Team" where diversity, integrity, and a dedication to excellence drive the collective success and growth of the organization. Gerber Collision & Glass actively encourages candidates from all walks of life, including individuals with disabilities and Protected Veterans, to apply, underscoring its commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity. This particular opportunity is for the position of Porter, an essential role that complements the quality of repairs by preparing and maintaining customer vehicles and shop facilities. The Porter ensures that each vehicle leaving the shop is spotless and ready for customer delivery, enhancing the overall customer satisfaction experience. Joining Gerber Collision & Glass as a Porter means becoming part of a team built with intent and driven by a shared goal to outperform at every customer touchpoint in the collision and glass services industry.
The Porter position is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organization that Gerber Collision & Glass is known for. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks centered on vehicle preparation, such as pre-washing customer vehicles before repair work begins, thoroughly cleaning the interiors and exteriors following repairs, and transporting vehicles to sublet locations as required. Additionally, the Porter plays a crucial role in keeping both the shop and office areas clean and orderly. This involves routine housekeeping duties such as emptying trash bins, sweeping and dusting, managing waste disposal, and even maintaining the outdoor parking lots and grounds, including seasonal tasks like shoveling sidewalks. The position demands working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, and it requires physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, ensuring that physical demands are met or accommodations provided where necessary. Payroll compensation ranges from $18 to $22+ per hour, depending on experience, and the company offers comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid parental leave, and additional wellness and education perks.
Gerber Collision & Glass is a dynamic work environment for individuals who are detail-oriented, trustworthy, and motivated to learn and grow within the automotive repair industry. The company fosters a positive attitude and a strong service mindset, encouraging employees to deliver WOW experiences consistently. For those looking to build a lasting career in an industry-leading company with opportunities for professional development and advancement, Gerber Collision & Glass offers a stable, supportive, and rewarding workplace. Interested candidates passionate about contributing to a team that values integrity, quality, and customer excellence are encouraged to apply and be part of a team that invests in their personal and professional success.
