Job Description

South Port Square is a distinguished senior living community situated on a sprawling 40-acre campus in Port Charlotte, Florida, close to the picturesque Charlotte Harbor and the charming town of Punta Gorda. Known as one of Florida's best-kept secrets, this vibrant community has been dedicated to serving retirees and seniors for over 35 years, making it a trusted leader in senior care and living. South Port Square is managed by Life Care Services (LCS), the nation’s premier developer and manager of senior living communities, which oversees twelve such communities across Florida. This connection ensures that South Port Square benefits from the expertise, integrity, and innovation that LCS brings to senior living nationwide.

As a company, South Port Square prioritizes creating an environment of trust, transparency, and purpose, aiming to empower its employees to reach their highest potential and find meaningful fulfillment in their careers. The team culture is deeply rooted in strong work ethics and a collective commitment from management and coworkers to positively impact residents’ lives every day. This nurturing atmosphere is ideal for professionals driven by hospitality and a passion for making a difference in senior care.

The Porter position at South Port Square plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and clean environment for residents and staff. This is a full-time role with a competitive starting salary of $15.50 per hour, reflecting the value placed on this integral position. A Porter is primarily responsible for major floor care projects and systematic trash disposal throughout the community. This includes meticulous maintenance of all floors and carpets to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and safety within common areas and private spaces alike.

In addition to floor care, a Porter is tasked with the removal of major trash, ensuring that waste management is handled promptly and hygienically. The role demands close attention to the maintenance and upkeep of all cleaning equipment and supplies, keeping them in optimal working condition to facilitate efficient daily operations. Continuous improvement and professional development are encouraged through participation in in-service training and education sessions as assigned. These training programs are designed to keep employees informed of best practices, safety protocols, and any new procedures that enhance the quality of service provided to residents.

The Porter reports directly to supervisory staff and carries out specific duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting the community’s evolving needs. The ideal candidate for this role will be enthusiastic about providing exceptional hospitality and support within a senior living setting, blending hands-on work with genuine care and respect for residents.

This opportunity offers a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about hospitality and senior engagement. South Port Square also offers an attractive benefits package that supports overall well-being and future security, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan with employer match, life insurance, paid time off, daily pay options, and participation in an Extraordinary Rewards Program. The work environment is inclusive, fun, and caring, built on a culture that values each employee’s contributions and fosters collaboration and growth.

Please note that this role requires a background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, ensuring safety and compliance within the community. South Port Square is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer, welcoming enthusiastic, compassionate professionals who are excited to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors. If you are ready to join a dedicated, hospitality-driven team and contribute to a leading senior living community, South Port Square invites you to apply and start a fulfilling chapter in your career.
