Job Description

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant restaurant chain rooted in the spirit of hard work, teamwork, and passion. Established in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by two former LSU walk-on basketball players, Walk-On's has grown from a single location to a nationally recognized brand that proudly embodies its underdog story. The restaurant is best known for its scratch-made dishes infused with a distinctive Louisiana flair, creating a fun and welcoming game-day atmosphere that draws guests from all walks of life. More than just a dining spot, Walk-On's cultivates a family-like culture where every team member, from kitchen staff to management, plays a crucial role in delivering unforgettable guest experiences. The company highly values energy, passion, and pride, celebrating wins and overcoming challenges as a united team. Walk-On's core values emphasize teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community, making it a workplace where employees are not only supported but encouraged to thrive and grow within the organization. This dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-energy environment makes Walk-On's more than just a job- it’s a place to build a career and become part of a winning culture.

The Porter position at Walk-On's is a part-time, non-exempt role reporting directly to the Manager on Duty. Porters, often referred to as the unsung MVPs behind the scenes, are essential to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall readiness of the restaurant and grounds for the bustling game-day energy. This role is perfectly suited for individuals who take immense pride in keeping spaces spotless and can thrive without the spotlight. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining designated areas, emptying trash, performing light maintenance tasks such as replacing bulbs or unclogging drains, and assisting with grounds upkeep like mowing and trimming. Porters also play a critical role in vigilance by monitoring the property for safety hazards and ensuring all heating, cooling, and cleaning supplies are well-stocked. The role requires adaptability, as priorities may shift based on the restaurant’s operational needs and guest areas' demands. Being team-oriented is essential since Porters often support various functions, underscoring that no task is too small to make a significant impact on the guest experience. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working behind the scenes within a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are self-motivated to keep Walk-On's championship-ready every day. Flexible part-time hours also make this an attractive job for students or those balancing other commitments, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the Walk-On's team. Overall, the Porter position is an excellent entry point into the hospitality industry, offering rewarding work as part of a spirited and supportive team dedicated to exceptional service and community celebration.
