Job Description
ABM (NYSE: ABM) is one of the world's largest providers of facility services and solutions, committed to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. Established in 1909, ABM has grown into a global leader serving over 20,000 clients with annualized revenue approaching $8 billion. With more than 100,000 team members operating from 350+ offices across the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and various international locations, ABM delivers a wide array of comprehensive services. These services range from janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical, to landscape and turf, and mission-critical solutions. ABM's commitment extends to industries such as commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, entertainment venues, and many more.
Joining ABM as a Custodian positions you within a dynamic and highly reputable company dedicated to maintaining excellence in facility management. This role pivots on maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in all assigned areas, including lobbies, hallways, offices, restrooms, and outdoor spaces—a vital function that supports the overall user experience and functionality of the facilities ABM operates. Custodians at ABM are entrusted not only with performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing floors, dusting surfaces, and cleaning windows but also with managing waste disposal by transporting trash and recyclables to designated areas. The role further involves supporting event preparation by setting up and breaking down rooms or spaces for meetings, events, or special functions.
Additionally, custodians assist with moving furniture, equipment, and deliveries throughout the facility, perform light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs and reporting leaks or other facility issues to management, and ensure that cleaning and restroom supplies are replenished as needed. The position requires a commitment to safety guidelines and company policies, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. This job is essential for ensuring that all spaces are well-maintained and operate smoothly, where attention to detail, physical stamina, and teamwork are heavily emphasized.
Employment at ABM as a custodian offers a chance to be part of a military-friendly workforce with access to world-class training programs and career advancement opportunities. ABM's inclusive culture values diversity and provides reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities. The company also actively participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program to ensure employment eligibility. Applications are accepted through ABM's official website, reinforcing the company's organized and professional recruitment process. Working as a custodian at ABM means joining an organization that not only values professional excellence but also social responsibility, sustainability, and the well-being of its team members.
