The position involves assisting with daily porter tasks, responding to maintenance-related issues, and performing general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, window and glass repair, door and lock repair, painting, and exterior building repairs. The role requires ensuring the accuracy of work order systems and confirming that all orders are completed in a timely manner to meet company standards and tenant satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling maintenance requests quickly, efficiently, and effectively, with an emphasis on completing tasks within 24 hours, and communicating promptly with property managers regarding maintenance issues. This position demands a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service to enhance the living experience within community properties. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of experience in property management or related field
- General knowledge of maintenance and repair including plumbing and electrical
- Previous renovation or minor construction experience
- Ability to read and write English
- Proficiency with general office equipment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and perform basic math
- Ability to handle difficult people and maintain confidentiality
- Professional appearance
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, current auto insurance
- Compliance with safety requirements
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, non-traditional holidays
- Willingness to be on-call and assist during staffing shortages
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least five years of experience in property management or a related field
- General knowledge of maintenance repair and service including plumbing and electrical
- Experience with renovation, rehab, or minor construction
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Ability to cope with and defuse difficult situations
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Current auto insurance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties
- Assist with daily porter tasks such as service requests and jobs at communities
- Respond to maintenance related issues in a timely manner
- Perform general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, painting, and exterior building repairs
- Ensure work order system accuracy by verifying completion of all orders to company standards and tenant satisfaction
- Handle maintenance requests efficiently and effectively, completing within 24 hours
- Communicate promptly with property managers concerning all maintenance issues
- Maintain professional appearance and comply with safety requirements
